Morton Grove's first 2011 Obama stimulus "campaign sign"

Last week Morton Grove, Illinois' oldest house, the Koeller-Boemmel Home on the corner of Lincoln and Lehigh, was torn down so the Homestead Retirement Home could be built.

For now, other than a lot of dirt and rubble, what has replaced the old dwelling is one of those Obama stimulus "campaign signs."

Oh, the previous stimulus job in the area, the resurfacing of Lehigh Avenue, created a half a job. That's not a typo, I got that figure from Recovery.gov.

Half a job. Oh, when is this recovery going to start? And you are wondering why I'm not smiling...
