Chicago driver accused of driving under the influence and running over 3 people was on probation for killing 93-year-old with his car is released on a recognizance bond

How many times do I have to repeat myself? The primary responsibility of governement is to protect people.

Cook County courts--and so-called Cook County prosecutor Kim Foxx don't understand at all.

From CBS Chicago:

Rayon Allen was on probation for killing a woman in a 2018 hit and run.

But five months after a judge sentenced him, police said the Chicago man plowed down more pedestrians in East Lakeview Sunday morning.

As CBS 2’s Marie Saavedra reported, the rampage of reckless driving ended early Sunday morning at Broadway and West Sheridan Road. The black iron fence outside Gill Park on the southwest corner of the intersection remained off kilter Monday evening because the suspect’s car crashed into it.

That in turn happened after police said he ran down three people. Two were badly hurt, but all three survived – unlike the woman police said the same driver hit in 2018.

Among other things Allen is charged with driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident. A Cook County judge sentenced Allen to thirty months probation for the death of the 93-year-old.

One of the injured is a cyclist who appears to have come to the aid of the first two victims.

Joe Biden’s ‘latest disastrous lie’ has been exposed

Despite his promise, assuming he remembers it, "Walkaway Joe" Biden left Americans behind in what Sky News' Australia's Rita Panahi calls the "hellhole" in Afghanistan.

Biden leaves Americans behind as troops leave Afghanistan

9/11 memorial,
Des Plaines, Illinois

Today is another dark day for America. This evening--shortly after midnight, August 31--in Afganistan, our troops left that nation.

From the Daily Mail:

And some 100 to 200 Americans and thousands of Afghan allies left behind must fend for themselves now that the airport no longer offers an escape route.
The end of the mission was announced by General Frank McKenzie, head of U.S. Central Command, who said the chief U.S. diplomat in Afghanistan, Ross Wilson, was on the last C-17 flight out.
'There's a lot of heartbreak associated with this departure,' he said.
'We did not get everybody out that we wanted to get out.
You see that? "Fend for themselves!"  And "we did not get everybody out that we wanted to get out."

And I suspect that "100-200" number will go up.

Sad.

Not just sad.

Tragic.

Joe Biden needs to go.

Mental decline of 'utterly deplorable and inept' President Biden 'can't be ignored'

Sky News Australia's Rita Panahi again nails it in regards to Sleepy Joe Biden.

90 Chicago Public Schools bus drivers quit over COVID shot, CPS offering $1,000 to families without rides

Englewood, Chicago's
South Side
Will Joe Biden blame "Republican governors" for these bus drivers refusing to vaccinated for COVID-19?

From Fox Chicago:

Chicago Public Schools said Sunday that 90 bus drivers quit between August 23-27. About 70 of those drivers quit on the same day. "
According to the bus companies, the rush of resignations was likely driven by the vaccination requirements," the school district said. Like many districts across the country, CPS had anticipated a shortage of bus drivers before the city announced vaccination requirements.
They had planned to work around the shortage by scheduling earlier pickups.
But the loss of another 10 percent of drivers has left 2,100 students without a ride.
The district's answer? To pay students to find their own way: $1,000 for the first two weeks of school and $500 a month after that.
Don't worry, when the government pays for something there is no cost.

Right?

Five dead and at least 43 wounded over weekend in Chicago, six teens amoung those shot

The last weekend in August saw five peope shot to death-- including two in Englewood on the South Side. There were single fatal shootings on the West Side, Southwest Side, and another outside of Englewood on the South Side.

Six teens were among those wounded.

According to Hey Jackass there have been 3,036 people wounded in 2021 in Chicago and 550 homicides.

The Rolling Stones - Connection - Live in 1995

Charlie Watts, the drummer for the Rolling Stones for nearly their entire existence, died this week at 80. Like Ringo Starr of the Beatles, Watts wasn't about the drum solo, he was a solid but greatly talented team player.

Rest in peace.

Here are the Stones pounding out "Connection."

Republicans are calling for Biden's impeachment

If Joe Biden had any sense of honor or his wits--he has neither--he would have resigned by now.

Senile Joe needs to go.

Where is Biden's doctor, Kevin C. O'Connor? He said in 2019 that Biden "is fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency"

In late 2019 Joe Biden's medical records were released. Kevin C. O'Connor was Biden's doctor and he said then, "Vice President Biden is a healthy, vigorous, 77-year-old male, who is fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency, to include those as Chief Executive, Head of State, and Commander in Chief."

O'Connor, who has been Biden's doctor since 2019, is now the White House physician.

Who seriously thinks Biden is "healthy?" Or "vigorous?"

Over the weekend in Chicago there were two mass shootings. On the south side six people were shot, one fatally. And a few hours after that incident four people were shot in the second mass shooting, one person was killed in that one.

Over all this past weekend 7 people were killed and at least 36 others were wounded.

Rep. Ronny Jackson says Biden should resign, not fit for office

Ronny Jackson isn't just any congressman. He's a doctor who was the White House physician for Barack Obama and Donald Trump.

And he believes not only that Joe Biden is not mentally fit to be president--if he doesn't resign--Jackson predicts that the Democratic Congress will remove him from office by way of the 25th Amendment.

Joe Biden’s 'six verifiable lies' in 'disastrous' interview

Sky News Australia's Rita Panahi rocks as a journalist. She dissects George Stephanopoulos' protective, but ultimately "disastrous" interview of Joe Biden.

Tucker: ABC news appears to edit portions that made Biden look 'unpresidential'

Even amid the Afghanistan debacle, so-called journalist George Stephanopoulos, a longtime Democratic operative, is protecting Joe Biden. The entire segment is essential, the cognitive decline part is towards the end of this clip.

Biden can't seem to recall what branch of the military his late son served in.

That's a female tiger swallowtail I discvered earlier this month and it is feeding on Joe Pye Weed. Photographed at Somme Woods in Northbrook, Illinois.

Taliban leader was swapped by Obama for deserter Bowe Bergdahl

More failure from the Democrats. Bowe Bergdahl is a US Army deserter.

From the New York Post:

When President Barack Obama released five Taliban commanders from the Guantanamo Bay prison in exchange for an American deserter in 2014, he assured a wary public that the dangerous enemy combatants would be transferred to Qatar and kept from causing any trouble in Afghanistan. In fact, they were left free to engineer Sunday’s sacking of Kabul.
Soon after gaining their freedom, some of the notorious Taliban Five pledged to return to fight Americans in Afghanistan and made contacts with active Taliban militants there. But the Obama-Biden administration turned a blind eye to the disturbing intelligence reports, and it wasn’t long before the freed detainees used Qatar as a base to form a regime in exile.
Earlier this year, one of them, Khairullah Khairkhwa, actually sat across the table from President Biden’s envoy to Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad, in Moscow, where Khairkhwa was part of the official Taliban delegation that negotiated the final terms of the US withdrawal. The retreat cleared a path for the Taliban to retake power after 20 years.

Teammate says Rapinoe "almost bullied" players into kneeling for Our National Anthem

Leftism, a quasi-religion, can turn into a cruel cult

From Fox News:

Former U.S. women's national team player Hope Solo said during a podcast last week that she saw teammate Megan Rapinoe "almost bully" players into kneeling for the national anthem.
"I've seen Megan Rapinoe almost bully players into kneeling because she really wants to stand up for something in her particular way, but it's our right as Americans to do it in whatever way we're comfortable with," Solo said on "All of US: The U.S. Women's Soccer Show" last Tuesday.
The former goalie described kneeling as "very divisive."
Meghan Rapinoe remains a spokesperson for Subway--don't believe the lying fact-checkers--and other companies. The US women's soccer team was favored to win the gold in the Toyko Olympics. They settled for a bronze.

Perhaps they should have focused on soccer instead of politics.

7 people killed, including a 7-year-old, and at least 50 others wounded in Chicago over weekend

It was yet another violent weekend in Chicago. Over these past few days seven people were shot to death, including a 7-year-old girl on the Northwest Side at Grand Avenue who was slain on Sunday. Her six-year-old sister was wounded. On a personal note I was a passenger in a car that drove past the site of the shootings on Saturday afternoon.

At least 50 others were wounded

At the other end of the demographics a 70-year-old woman was shot to death in a parked car on the Southeast Side.

Texas House speaker signs civil arrest warrants to return AWOL Democrats to statehouse

Don't mess with Texas Republicans.

From USA Today:

House Speaker Dade Phelan late Tuesday signed 52 arrest warrants for Democrats who left the state for Washington D.C. in July and have yet to return to the House chamber for the second special legislative session of the year.

The warrants came after Texas House Republicans voted to direct state law enforcement to track down and compel the attendance of absent Democrats by a vote of 80-12, the second time such a vote has been taken during this quorum-bust.

The warrants, first reported by the Dallas Morning News, will be delivered to the House Sergeant-at-arms Wednesday morning, according to Phelan spokesperson Enrique Marquez.

CNN: "Prices for just about everything are going up"

Yes, inflation is soaring. Anyone who has taken a basic economics course--and paid attention--knows that when you recklessly pump cash into an economy, inflation is the result.

From the Hill:
Consumer prices rose 0.5 percent in July and 5.4 percent over the past 12 months, according to data released Wednesday by the Labor Department, but the monthly pace of price increases fell sharply.
The consumer price index (CPI), a closely watched gauge of inflation, rose at a much slower monthly pace than June’s torrid 0.9 percent increase. Even so, the 12-month increase in the CPI in July was even with June’s rise of 5.4 percent, the highest annual inflation rate since August 2008, as the reopening of U.S. economy ramped up demand for a wide range of products.
It's so bad even CNN is taking notice.

Cuomo quits

New York governor Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat, announced today that amid a sexual harrassment scandal he'll resign--his departure will take effect in two weeks.

Cuomo amazingly won an Emmy Award for his pompous and innacurate daily COVID-19 briefings, despite his policy of sending COVID-positive people into nursing homes, killing thousands.

New York will soon has its first female governor, Kathy Hochul.

Will the Emmy people ask for Cuomo's award to be returned?

And will "Fredo," Cuomo's apologist brother, quit his CNN gig?

Alleged killer of Chicago cop got probation for robbing North Side man in 2019

Kim Foxx, the Crook County so-called prosecutor, and the pro-criminal court system run by Judge Timothy Evans, both need to be queried about this Monty Morgan.

From the indispensible CWB Chicago site:

A Chicago man accused of killing Chicago Police Officer Ella French and shooting her partner during a traffic stop over the weekend received two years probation after he pleaded guilty to robbing a man on the North Side in August 2019. CWBChicago introduced you to Monty Morgan, formally known as Emonte Morgan, shortly after that victim beat Morgan in self-defense following the August 8, 2019, robbery attempt. Two years ago, prosecutors said Morgan arranged to meet a 36-year-old Bridgeport man in the 1200 block of North Larrabee so Morgan could purchase the other guy’s $900 iPhone. But, when the two got together around 8:30 p.m. on August 8, Morgan took the phone and ran away, the victim alleged.
More..
Prosecutors initially charged Morgan, who listed an Old Town address at the time of his arrest, with felony theft and misdemeanor battery. He later pleaded guilty to one count of robbery in exchange for a sentence of two years probation, according to court records. Judge William O’Brien oversaw the case. Today, prosecutors charged Morgan with first-degree murder of a peace officer, two counts of attempted first-degree murder of a peace officer, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felony, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in connection with the death of French, the shooting of her partner, and the attempted shooting of another cop over the weekend. He was shot by officers who returned fire, police said, and was listed in serious condition.
Ella French was a Chicago cop for three years. She was slain Saturday in West Englewood on the South Side.

NBC Chicago says one other person has been charged.
Morgan's brother, Eric Morgan, 19, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon with a prior conviction.

13 killed, including a cop, and at least 73 wounded over weekend in Chicago

Violence continues at a very high level in Chicago. Over the first full weekend in August thirteen people were killed and at least 73 others were wounded.

One of the slain was Chicago police officer Ella Frech, she was shot to death during a traffic stop in West Englewood. Her partner, also shot, is in critical condition.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot managed to mention "gangs" as a problem during a press conference yesterday. But on Twitter she issued an insensitive Tweet about the police and guns, which in Lightfoot's left-wing world firearms, not the people who fire them, are responsible for the mayhem in Chicago.

"Some say we don't do enough for the police. Others say we do too much. All of this must stop. We have a common enemy: it's guns & the violence they bring," was the Tweet.

Other problems Chicagoans face are a catch-and-release system operated by so-called prosecutor Kim Foxx and the criminal-friendly court system.

Enviro pressure may lead to the closing of two Illinois nuclear power plants. Will rolling blackouts be next?

Illinois is such a messed up state. One of the few things going for it is that electricity supplies are quite stable. We don't have rolling blackouts here. Yet.

But enviromental kooks are holding up an Illinois energy bill to push "clean energy," such as wind, which is notoriously unreliable and expensive.  As well as solar, another dim bulb energy source. What happened to "follow the science?" Also the enviros are pushing "job equity" as part of their energy plans.

Exelon, the parent company of Commonwealth Edison--and ComEd is not one of my favorites, by the way-- may shutter two northern Illinois nuclear power plants if an Illinois energy bill without subsidies for those plants is left out. It's likely the electricity that is powering my desktop computer comes from one of those plants.

I'm not a big fan of subsidies to corporations, particularly one, Commonwealth Edison, which once had ties to the graft-ridden Boss Madigan machine

But we need to keep the lights on in Illinois. Literally.

Keep these plants open.

Nuclear power is carbon free of course.

Hey Jackass: July third deadliest month in Chicago history

Despite the lies from Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D-Leftist) and the office of state's attorney Kim Foxx (D-Soros), violence is not on a "downward trajectory" in Chicago. July was the third-deadliest month in Chicago history. Only November 1974 (when Chicago had a much higher populatation) and August 1992 (when the city had a slighly higher population) saw more homicides, according to Hey Jackass.

There were 110 homicides in Chicago last month--517 others were wounded. And the former number will go up--as those shot sometimes die a few days, weeks, or months after getting wounded.

Hey Lightfoot and Foxx: Your leftist policies aren't working.

4 killed and least 45 shot during Lollapalooza weekend in Chicago

Lollapalooza returned to Chicago's Grant Park after a year's absence.

Meanwhile in the rest of the city people kept shooting each other. During Lollapalooza weekend four people were shot to death and at least 45 others were wounded. Of the fatalities two were on the South Side, one in South Shore and the other in West Pullman. The other two killings were on the West Side, one in East Garfield Park and the other on the Near West Side.
