Chicago Marathon 10/10/10: International runners

A record 38,000 runners crossed the starting line on 10/10/10 for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, including the man on the left from Denmark. Typically about 7,000 international entrants compete each year.

For some, running is a group thing--as these Mexican athletes show.

The man on the lower left was running near me--or was I running near him?--in the last five miles of the race. As you can see in the photograph, he finished--and I finished.

Besides the runner pictured, I saw many Canadian, German, and British runners.
