Obama, who relegated GOP to "sit in back," asking Iowans for advice

The man who rammed universal health care through Congress without any Republican support and who declared last fall, "We don't mind the Republicans joining us. They can come for the ride, but they gotta sit in back," is now asking Iowans for advice on fixing the economy.

Recovery from the recession "isn't going to be driven by Washington," Obama said in Peosta, a small Dubuque County town, "It's going to be driven by folks like here in Iowa."

Listening to others is not a long suit of the hope-and-change president.
