Convicted swindler Antoin "Tony" Rezko's bid for a new trial was turned down today. In a 34 page opinion, Judge Amy St. Eve said the the prosecution had proven their case. Rezko was found guilty of 16 counts of fraud in June.
It's widely believed that Rezko is talking to prosecutors about what he knows about political corruption in Illinois, and his sentencing has been postponed indefinitely.
I imagine he'll be even chattier now.
Rezko faces another trial next year, this one involving the allegedly fraudelent sale of his pizza restaurants.
President-elect Barack Obama's Chicago transition office in the John C. Kluczynski Building is only two blocks from the Metropolitan Correctional Center, where Rezko, who was Obama's first political sponsor, now resides.

I had a feeling Rezko wasn't going
to get off easy. This could drag on for years.
Rezko and Ayers could be Cellies!
