Four Corners Furtherance: The gateway to the Arches

Park Avenue
People travel to Arches National Park to see the arches--over 2,000 natural sandstone arches can be found within the park. But to get to them, at least by car, you have to drive past some pretty impressive sandstone behemoths--which are not arches.

Park Avenue, on the left, almost certainly gets its name for New York City's East Side high rise heaven.

When I saw the three human-like figures on the right, I assumed they'd have a powerful, majestic name of biblical proportions. Alas, they're called The Three Gossips.
The Three Gossips

Well, if the Three Gossips get into a tussle with each other, about I guess, gossiping, then I guess they'd end up in the courthouse. Which of course brings us to the Courthouse Towers, which is in the same neighborhood.

Like the shopping mall rudely driven through by Jake and Elwood in The Blues Brothers, "this place has everything."

And of course it has arches. You don't think I'd let you escape without one more look at some more, would you?

Next post: More arches
