Four Corners Furtherance: Arizona's White Mesa and roadside stands

Roughly halfway between Monument Valley and Lake Powell, you will find Arizona's White Mesa. On a roadside there we found a jewelry stand run by Native Americans, there were similar stands at Monument Valley.

We bought a few things, Mrs. Marathon Pundit picked out a necklace with what I think was polished obsidian, but the woman we purchased it from didn't know what it was. Not surprisingly, there was a lot of turquoise being offered, that mineral was mined by Indians, including Ancestral Puebloans, who I discussed in my Mesa Verde entries.

Next: Moqui Cave
