After leaving Zion National Park, we headed east to Cedar Breaks National Monument. It was a natural transition, because or next national park to visit was Bryce Canyon. What you see is Cedar Breaks's amphitheatre. Geologically speaking, an amphitheater is a wide open canyon that with a little imagination, you can picture as a large arena.
Cedar Breaks is at high altitude, over 10,000 feet above sea level. I was driving during this portion of the trip and it was while traversing this area that I devised my ultimately successful strategy to overcome the overheating problem our Ford experienced while driving across the Colorado Rockies a few days earlier.
Next: Red Canyon
