Today the New York Times launched its latest attack on this campaign in its capacity as an Obama advocacy organization. Let us be clear about what this story alleges: The New York Times charges that McCain-Palin 2008 campaign manager Rick Davis was paid by Freddie Mac until last month, contrary to previous reporting, as well as statements by this campaign and by Mr. Davis himself.
In fact, the allegation is demonstrably false. As has been previously reported, Mr. Davis separated from his consulting firm, Davis Manafort, in 2006. As has been previously reported, Mr. Davis has seen no income from Davis Manafort since 2006. Zero. Mr. Davis has received no salary or compensation since 2006. Mr. Davis has received no profit or partner distributions from that firm on any basis -- weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual -- since 2006. Again, zero. Neither has Mr. Davis received any equity in the firm based on profits derived since his financial separation from Davis Manafort in 2006.
Further, and missing from the Times' reporting, Mr. Davis has never -- never -- been a lobbyist for either Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac. Mr. Davis has not served as a registered lobbyist since 2005.

I assume this will be your last post for a while, at least on behalf of the campaign. Did they mention on the conference call how long the suspension will last?
It's been a couple of days since I've listened in on a conf call--so I don't know how long the suspension last. Since I'm not a member of the personality cult known as the Obama campaign, I can post about whatever I want.
So I'll continue to post.
I'm looking forward to Thursday's gaffe from Biden.

I noticed that none of those talking points gave us a clue as to where McCain stands on the bailout? Is he going to go all maverick on us and buck the President? Or is he going to support the President and f**k the rest of us?

Our side is run much differently than yours.
McCain wants to study the options available, which is why he want to temorarily suspend the campaign. Obama will ask Austan Goolsbee what do to, I guess.

That certainly explains why Sen. McCain called Sen. Obama back this morning to tell him he agreed with Obama's idea to have the two campaigns work on the points they both agree on.
Did you get that? McCain himself agreed with Obama taking the leadership role on this. So much for your claptrap.
Oh, and while McCain suspends his imploding campaign to ostensibly "save America" from the mess his own economic adviser Phil "Nation of Whiners" Gramm helped create he may want to keep in mind that there's still only one president. (While you're guys are at it, "Whiner" Gramm would do well to remember there's only one Treasury Secretary.)
PS - I s'pose you're correct in that getting paid $2million to sit on your fanny and simply provide 'access' to Sen. McCain really isn't "lobbying" per se... It just sounds a lot like it.
Then again McCain's latest ad (6 Degrees A Propos of Nothing) calls Bill Daley a "lobbyist" despite the fact he's never even been registered as one -- and despite the fact Sen. McCain had high praise for Sec. Daley's time as Secretary of Commerce under Clinton.
Camp McCain got the wrong Bill Daley, apparently. Yet another "gaffe" that you somehow failed to notice in your supposed hunt for gaffes.
I hope you don't get too queasy from all your spinning. The rest of us are buying stock in Dramamine since you'll be needing plenty of it.

Bill Daley was Clinton' guy in Congress, registered or not, to lobby for NAFTA, which Obama either supports or does not.
Ask Goolsbee about that.

And Hank Paulson is currently a lobbyist for the Banking Industry and asking for a $700 billion lotto windfall for the industry he "represents".
