Marathon Pundit: (Photo) Crawdad Slough

Here is another of the many little lakes that are so common in the Palos area southwest of Chicago where I grew up--Crawdad Slough near Willow Springs.

I didn't see any crawdads--but a few oarfish-sized carp caught my eye. And some Canada geese.

Perhaps the carp are the reason the slough is closed to fishing.
