Still unrepentant post-Boston: Bill Ayers defends Weather Underground bombings

President Obama's close friend, Bill "Bomber" Ayers remains an unrepentant terrorist. Yesterday, at a ceremony was held at Kent State University on the 43rd anniversary of the deaths of four antiwar protesters, the former University of Illinois-Chicago professor dug in his leftist heals when asked about the deadly Boston Marathon attacks.

Bill Ayers says people can't equate the bombings that he and others in the Weather Underground did 40 or so years ago with the April 15 twin bombings in Boston that killed three people.

Ayers, a keynote speaker at Saturday's annual May 4 commemoration of the National Guard shootings at Kent State in 1970 that left four students dead, spoke briefly after giving his talk before an estimated 350 people on the university’s Commons.

There is no relationship at all between what Weather Underground members did and the bombings that two brothers allegedly committed on April 15 in Massachusetts, Ayers said in response to a reporter’s question. No one died in the Weather Underground bombings.

Sheesh, Ayers is wrong again. The marathon bombers used nail bombs to kill and maim. Three of Ayers' fellow terrorists died in 1970 when a nail bomb they were building in New York's Greenwich Village neighborhood accidentally exploded. That murder device was to have been detonated at a soldiers' dance at Fort Dix in New Jersey.

The San Francisco police officer's union has accused the Weather Underground as the bombers that killed a San Francisco police sergeant in an attack a month prior to accidental Greenwich Village explosion.

Eleven years later two cops were killed--by gunshot wounds, not bombs--in a Brink's truck robbery north of New York City. That crime was carried out by members of the Black Liberation Army and the Weather Underground.

But yesterday Ayers dismissed his group's violent acts in this manner: "Property damage. That's what we did."

What a tool.

Of the nation that he is nominally a citizen of, Ayers also said yesterday that the United States was the most violent country ever, apparently forgetting about the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, and Pol Pot's Cambodia.

Obama began his political career in the living room of Ayers' and his wife and fellow unrepentant terrorist, Bernardine Dohrn. Speaking about Obama's opponent in the 2008 presidential election, Ayers remarked that John McCain "committed daily war crimes in Vietnam."
