Violent urban flash mobs, which I prefer to call "wilding" youths, is not just a Chicago phenomenon.
The Peoria Chronicle blog
reported last week that a group of 60-70 troublemakers shouted out threats to white people and threatening to kill them. It was the fifth such large mob gathering in a month, according to a resident in the tormented neighborhood. A mainstream media columnist, from the
Peoria Journal Star,
dismisses the blogger's account. He questions why there were no photographs or video of the hooligans. Well, duh, it was nighttime, and secondly, is it a prerequisite to have visual evidence to write about it? Thirdly, if the citizen-journalist zooms in for a closeup, will his cameras be stolen and will he be beaten?
Sheesh!
Oh, Doug Ross has great post on
wilding occurrences outside of Illinois.
The blogprof
has video.
