Bill Richardson is Obama's choice for commerce

Governor Bill Richardson (D-NM) is apparently Barack Obama's choice to be his Secretary of Commerce. Richardson is a former member of the House of Representatives and was Energy Secretary under Bill Clinton.

After his own presidential bid fell way short of even being a Texas League single, Richardson endorsed Obama instead of the wife of his former boss.

During the run, Richardson raised eyebrows in the Midwest when he suggested diverting large amounts of water from the Great Lakes to the dry Southwest. This proposal gave Richardson much needed attention, but not the kind that helped him in the polls. Richardson backed off the water grab as soon as the national media got wind of it.

For years, Richardson, a baseball player at Tufts University, claimed to have been drafted by the then-Kansas City Athletics. Once confronted with the truth--the A's never drafted him--Richardson changed his story.

I got to give the man credit for trying. Though it would no doubt
have an environmental impact, and
would only be a temporary fix.

Do you have anything on California
wild fires? They're in desperate
need for rain.

I have to change the subject if I
may. Have you noticed the falling
Gas Prices?

The lake levels were probably
pretty low. After the record rain
here in the midwest has helped
reversed the effects of the drought
here. Diverting water from the Great Lakes would indeed have an
environmental impact across the
board.
