For the last two years the Christmas Village, a recreation of German style Christmas market, has graced an area next to Philadelphia's City Hall. But because of an unspecified number of complaints, city workers removed "Christmas" from the Christmas Village sign. But the Midnight Blue Says blog reports that Philly Mayor Michael Nutter brought Christmas back to the village's sign.
In Denmark, the Foreign Ministry is sending out Christmas cards that say "Merry Christmas" or an equivalent of such in various languages . They have not done so in over a decade, according to the Copenhagen Post.
Oddly, diplomats only have the option to choose "Merry Christmas" or "Seasons Greetings" if they are sending out cards in English.
But I count these as two wins for Christmas.
