When Nancy Pelosi became Speaker of the House, she promised to "drain the swamp" of unethical congressmen. She missed a big one--former House Ways and Means Chairman Charlie Rangel.
In the first item of business for the lame duck House session, Rangel's ethics trial begins today. He's acccused of not paying taxes on home he owns in the Dominican Republic, strongarming lobbyists, and using a rent-controlled New York appartment for political purposes.
