Here's a spooky tune, well, sort of that is. It's "Telstar" by the Tornadoes.
It's where surf music meets science fiction.
Earlier this month I reviewed--the link to it is below the video clip--Tales from The Rock ‘n Roll Twilight Zone, a new book by Richard Syrett.
One of the artists whose story he told--a sad one, by the way--was of Joe Meek, a British producer.
He wrote and produced "Telstar." Also, he used sampling techniques. He was years ahead of his time.
As was this song.
Oh, Telstar 1 was a very early communications satellite.
