Today is Ascension Day, which always occurs 40 days after Easter. It celebrates Jesus' Ascension into Heaven and His seat at the right hand of the Father.
"Ascension Day" by Elvis Costello and Allen Toussaint, is about the date on the calender rather than the Ascension, but it's still an engaging song.
Earlier this year I posted a more formal performance of the song from "Late Night with David Letterman."
