63rd Street's Obama stimulus "campaign sign"

Chicago's Southwest Side has its Barack Obama economic stimulus "campaign sign," this one can be found on 63rd Street near Midway Airport. The top of the sign declares that the boondoggle is "Putting America to Work." The unemployment rate is at the highest level in 26 years.

Let's talk about the money being spent by the Obama administration. Yes, President Bush racked up some troubling deficits, but with the exception of 2008, it would take Bush about two years to cross each trillion threshold. Obama hits his new trillion after only six months or so.

In a couple of weeks, the national deficit will exceed $13 trillion.

The top of that sign should read, "Putting America into Debt."

I live in the south suburbs and I have to admit that I get flustered whenever I see those signs.

Using borrowed money to line the pockets of their buddies while the majority of people are still without jobs (myself included).

I, like others, believe that if they really wanted to stimulate the economy, they would since they (as Rush says) have the blueprints for stimulating and growing the economy via Reagan policies.

Those policies being, counterproductive to Obama's plans, they can not be an option as they would discredit what they are trying to do and reveal their motives.

It's unfortunate that we have a POTUS that is willing to let large segments of the population suffer in order to achieve their larger objective. It just so happens that those who suffer most are not his constituents (entitlement class) so he's willing to sacrifice them for his political gain. If I could read his thoughts I'd bet they would be somewhere along the lines of "don't worry, we're going to keep giving you government money until we make our changes, just shut up about it"- I think most of us would rather be employed then help enact radical political change, no matter how much "bribe" money we get in entitlements.
