Arlen Specter flashback: "I came to this caucus to be your 60th vote."

The biggest loser tonight is not Martha Coakley, or even Barack Obama. It's turncoat Senator Arlen Specter (D-PA) who made this declaration on the floor of the Senate last month: "I came to this caucus to be your 60th vote."

The former Republican, who is up for reelection this fall, may soon be a former senator.

Now that Republican Scott Brown has been elected to the Senate, does that make Specter the Democrats' 59th vote? Does it even matter?
