The so-called Employee Free Choice Act appears to be dead for now. Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA), who supported "card check" two years ago, says he won't back it now.
Card check appeared to be in trouble already, there was speculation that two Arkansas Blue Dog Democratic Senators, Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, would oppose it. Arkansas is a right-to-work state.
