On this day in 1935, Elvis Presley was born in the house pictured on the left.
I've had some Elvis encounters in the last year. In May I visited The King's birthplace in Mississippi, and spent time in Tupelo Hardware, where the Hillbilly Cat bought his first guitar.
And on Sunday, the last day of the exhibit, I was able to enjoy "A Very Elvis Christmas" at--I'm not making this up--the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum in Iowa. On the right is the "Blue Christmas" tree.
Yes, as Mojo Nixon (no relation to Richard) once sang, "Elvis is Everywhere."
Happy Birthday, Elvis. Wherever you are.

My site is honoring Elvis' birthday this week by having Elvis week. I figured maybe you'd like to check it out. We're featuring collectors of all things Elvis and interviewed some of them. Check it out: http://www.collectorsquest.com/featured-week/Elvis.html
