Woo hoo! In what is being called an upset, Anita Alvarez of River Forest has won the Democratic nomination for Cook County State's Attorney.
From CBS 2 Chicago:
Alvarez has been endorsed by Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn, aldermen Manny Flores (1st) and Rey Colón (35th), and the Daily Herald newspaper.
And Marathon Pundit.
It's a sweet win. More good news: Larry Suffredin of Evanston, who got the backing of my loony-left congresscritter, Jan Schakowsky (also from Evanston) finished in third, despite a heap of other endorsements.
