British ObamaCare update: Hero left to lie in own excrement

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is having a rough time of it. The internet got the Brits hooked on American-style elections, which unfortunately come with American-style gaffes. A hot microphone caught the Scotsman referring to an old lady, a lifetime supporter of his party, as a bigot after she remarked "You can't say anything about immigrants. All these eastern Europeans - where are they coming from?"

A much older woman, 84 year-old Clara Stokes, received the Badge of Honour from the prime minister last year for her service as a World War II Land Girl, in Brown's words, "at a time when our country depended upon you for its survival."

London's Telegraph reports that after suffering a stroke, the woman who served her country was let down by it's government run health care service, the NHS. Overworked nurses weren't able to care for her--she was left lying in her own excrement for hours at a time.

Her family wrote a letter to Brown, demanding to know why Stokes was treated "worse than an animal."

While the Brits want to have American-style elections, President Obama is pushing our nation into British-style government run health care.

It's a bad trade.
