British ObamaCare update: Gov't run health service won't pay for girl's proper prosthetic legs

When the government runs things, heartlessness and inhumanity prevails. Great Britain's government-run health care agency, the National Health Service, won't pay for proper prosthetic legs for a Scottish girl--because the NHS withdrew from a contract with an artificial limb supplier.

From News of the World:

A FURIOUS mum last night slammed the NHS for denying her brave amputee daughter the new pair of legs she desperately needs.

Scrooge health bosses have REFUSED to pay for replacement limbs for battling schoolgirl Paige Allan, who lost her hands and feet to meningitis at just 13 months old.

So now the plucky eight- year-old - our Bighearted Child of the Year in 2005 - is confined to a WHEELCHAIR.

And devastated mum Nicola, 31, from Kirkcaldy, stormed: "Paige had learned to walk and run, ride a bike, play on a scooter and jump on a trampoline with her artificial limbs.

The NHS has offered the girl standard limbs that won't allow her to walk or ride a bicycle. The lass' parents are trying to come up with £7,500 to pay for the new limbs.

Government run health care is going to end up like the government run invasion of Iraq.
It will cost ten times more than projected, will take ten times longer to fix than estimated, will result in massive debts that will be passed on to our children, and in the end will benefit few people.

Republicans have got that part right.
But they are still clinging to the notion that somehow government run invasions of countries are done better than government run health care programs.
Hello. You have the same folks running both "programs".

I hope Republicans will take their own words to heart the next time a president want to send an invasion force anywhere in the world.

The Job of government is to screw things up. That's why Iraq has lasted so long, costs so much, killed so many people, saddle us with so much debt, and still shows no signs of ever ending.
