Even more so after Election Day, thank a veteran today

Election Day was three days ago. While half of American voters aren't happy with the results, they should be grateful that there has been a peaceful transfer of power since the founding of the republic.

Soldiers and sailors secured American independence and it is our military that keeps us free.

Thank a veteran for that today on Veteran's Day. Or any day, really.

Pictured above this Morton Grove, Illinois Doughboy Monument. Since Veterans Day evolved from Armistice Day, which marked the end of the First World War, I usually include a photograph of the monument on Marathon Pundit each November 11. But this year I want to remind my readers that there is GoFundMe page set for the statue, which is in need of repairs. Click here to learn more or contribute.
