Third World: Putin opponent shot dead at Kremlin

Only cold weather is preventing Russia from being called a banana republic. Russia's former deputy prime minister, Boris Nemtsov, was murdered tonight.

From the BBC:
An unidentified attacker in a car shot Mr. Nemtsov four times in the back as he crossed a bridge in view of the Kremlin, police say.

He died hours after appealing for support for a march on Sunday in Moscow against the war in Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has condemned the murder, the Kremlin says.

In a recent interview, Mr Nemtsov had said he feared Mr Putin would have him killed because of his opposition to the war in Ukraine.
His fears were well founded.

Nonsense. Bush looked into his eyes, saw his soul, and pronounced him trustworthy.

Obama says: "On all these issues, but particularly missile defence, this, this can be solved but it's important for him to give me space."

(Then Russian president) Medvedev replies: "Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you …"

Mr Obama retorts: "This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility."

But Obama is no soul-gazer, like Shrub was. Obama has to rely on relevant intelligence and political reality. Soul-gazing was always Shrub's forte, which is why he was surrounded by so many soul men, like Turd-Blossom, Rummy, Dick (his parents didn't name him until he was 15 to be sure they got it right)Cheney, Scooter (is he out of prison yet?), Condi and all the neo-cons, who all did such a bang-up job, the Saud Royalty, and, of course, the aforementioned soul-mate Putin. All soul-certified by the Gazer himself!
