Russian military conducts drill on Estonian and Latvian borders

Saulkrasti, Latvia
Certainly President Obama and his inept Secretary of State, John Kerry, will say, "Nothing to see here, move along."

From Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty:
Up to 2,000 Russian soldiers took part in drills in the country's western Pskov region which borders EU members Estonia and Latvia on February 25 as Moscow conducted an inspection of its paratrooper units.

The drills, which will see some 1,500 paratroopers parachute en masse, were to continue until February 28, and will include soldiers capturing and destroying a fictional enemy's airfield.
Does anyone expect Latvia (population 2.1 million) or Estonia (population 1.2 million) to attack Russia (population 142 million)?

Roughly one-quarter of the people living in the two Baltic States are ethnic Russians.

They are conducting a drill? Heaven forfend! It may be time for another 3 trillion dollar war, 'paid' for with some more tax cuts! Or even a world war! I'm sure tens of thousands of American families would love to see their kids sacrificed for another neocon fantasy. Too bad Obama and Kerry are being so irresponsible.

Russia, the world's largest nation, has plenty of places to conduct drills. Yet they chose Pskov.

That is a clear provocation! And they're the world's largest nation, so there's that!! We need really tough talk, followed by a 10 trillion dollar war, which we will certainly win! And we won't have to waste a lot of time with weapons inspectors looking for yellowcake uranium and aluminum tubes, we already know that the Russians have plenty of nukes! What could possibly go wrong? Going to war is a true no-brainer! Really the only option, what with American exceptionalism and all.
