In 2000 and early 2001, a number of spurious pardons and clemency actions were given by President Bill Clinton, some that seemed to aid the then-First Lady's run for the US Senate, and one that aided her brother, Hugh Rodham.

In a video, the Republican National Committee asks, Will the Hillary films include the pardon and clemency scandals?

The whole stemch became known as Pardongate.

CNN and NBC are planning to produce films about Hillary Clinton.
