I'm traveling this morning so I thought it would be a good time to post my 2012 trillium photos. The early spring has brought out these beauties at the earliest time since I moved to Morton Grove.
All of these photographs were taken within a few feet of each other in Linne Woods.
The most common trillium in the Chicago area is the white trillium
A few more blossoms.
And finally a red trillium. The speckled leaf coloring makes up for the less attractive bloom.

Actually they are! But they hadn't blossomed as of yesterday and I won't be back in town until Sunday night to check on them.
