Obama rules against Keystone XL pipeline and 100,000 new jobs

In some of President Obama's campaign-style speeches to pass his stalled Americans Jobs Act, he used the refrain, "We can't wait.'

Well, he can't wait to kill 100,000 new jobs, many of them high-paying unionized positions.

The White House is rejecting the plan to build the Keystone XL pipeline, which will bring petroleum to our nation from western Canadian oil sands.

Clearly, Obama "can't wait" to placate his Hollywood environmentalist donors.

"Keystone was an obvious choice: everybody in Washington says they want more American jobs now," Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said last month. "Well, here's the single largest shovel-ready project in America — ready to go. Some of the news outlets are calling this pipeline controversial — I have absolutely no idea why. The labor unions like it. Democrats want it. It strengthens our national security by decreasing the amount of oil we get from unfriendly countries. And it wouldn’t cost the taxpayers a dime. . . . The only thing standing between thousands of American workers, and the good jobs this project will provide, is President Obama."

In related news, GasBuddy.com says the cost of gasoline could reach $5 a gallon by Memorial Day. Obama's celebrity pals can afford it. Can you?

The average cost of gasoline when President Bush was in office was $1.61 a gallon.

America: We can't afford four more years of Obama.
