WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Adam Kinzinger (IL-11) today issued the following statement on the national unemployment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics for the month of October:

"This morning, Americans woke up to the same frustrating news we've heard for 33 straight months - unemployment remains above eight percent. Today's report of nine percent unemployment highlights the urgency for both sides of the aisle to work together on job creating solutions we can all agree on.

"Since coming to Washington in January, I have been focusing squarely on refueling our economy. Working with both House Republicans and Democrats, we have passed numerous pieces of legislation to create an environment for our economy to grow and thrive. Unfortunately, 22 of these bills are held up in the Democratic-controlled Senate. Our solutions are focused on getting folks back to work by removing the barriers that impede job growth. This Plan for America's Job Creators tackles our debt head on, simplifies the tax code, reforms excessive regulations, and increases domestic energy production.

"These bills originated from conversations my colleagues and I have had with job creators all across the country. And, as I mentioned last night, these pro-growth solutions won't cost us a dime.

"We have a real job creation plan; the bipartisan bills that we sent over to the Senate. The American people deserve a voice, but they don't have one when this legislation sits on Harry Reid's desk. We cannot wait any longer."
