Video: Huntsman at the Faith and Freedom Conference

Former Utah governor and ambassador to China Jon Huntsman spoke at the Faith and Freedom Conference in Washington this morning.

Here's an excerpt of his address:

I do not believe the Republican Party should focus only on our economic life to the neglect of our human life. That is a trade we should not make. If Republicans ignore life, the deficit we will face is one that is much more destructive. It will be a deficit of the heart and of the soul.

Huntsman is a fluent Mandarin speaker, and he begins his speech in that language, playing off Ralph Reed's statement that the Utahn would address the gathering in English.

The Huntsmans adopted a Chinese girl who was abandoned vegetable market in 1999.

While ambassador, Huntsman met with dissidents.
