The
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel investigated the buying and selling of food stamps on Facebook--which is illegal. It discovered nine potential food stamp buyers and sellers in Milwaukee and 70 nationwide attempting to buy or sell food assistance, including a debit card used for Wisconsin's
FoodShare program, on the social networking site.
The
Journal Sentinel contacted the sellers and buyers about their actions--and none of them changed their privacy settings to mask their activities.
Well, at least they're honest crooks.
