Rep. Mark Kirk, the Republican nominee for the US Senate in Illinois, remains tied with his Democratic opponent, Alexi Giannoulias, the state treasurer, failed mob banker, and sqaunderer of kids' college savings.But an infusion of cash is coming his way, courtesy of the National Republican Senatorial Committee--$3.4 million. Even in Illinois, that's a lot of cash. Even before this announcement, Kirk led Giannoulias in raising money.
