New web site: StopPlayingGolf.com, Pollak asks President Obama to play less golf, focus on job

From Joel Pollak campaign press release:

EVANSTON, IL--The Pollak For Congress campaign has launched a new website, StopPlayingGolf.com, featuring an online petition that asks President Obama to play less golf and focus his energies on the job he was elected to do.

The online petition reads: "Dear President Barack Obama: We elected you to govern, not to golf. In your first 16 months in office, you have played far more golf than your predecessor did in eight years. We are fighting two wars, and enduring the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. We face terrorism, financial crisis, and environmental disaster. Yet you continue to play instead of working. We, the undersigned, ask you to stop playing golf so often, and to get back to doing your job."

Joel Pollak, Republican nominee for U.S. Congress in the 9th district of Illinois, said that while the President is entitled to take a break, he is neglecting his duties by playing golf obsessively. “In the midst of the oil spill, economic turmoil, and confrontation with terror, President Obama is needed at his post. Yet when there is a crisis, or a decision to make, he is often away from work–he is on the links instead. Few Americans can afford that luxury. Democrats and Republicans agree: the President must get back to work."

The website, http://stopplayinggolf.com, features a partial list of important domestic and international events that President Obama has missed to play golf. It also includes a scorecard that keeps track of the number of times President Obama has golfed versus the number of times his predecessor did. It also allows visitors to share the petition with friends via social media tools, such as a “widget” for embedding on other websites.

The online petition will be submitted to the White House in the coming weeks>
