AP: White House offered job to Colorado Dem in exchange for dropping out of Senate primary

Two years ago while running for the presidency, Barack Obama offered hope, change, and transparency. He delivered on the middle one--although it's change I abhor and I hope he's forced to work with a Republican Congress in January. As for transparency, well, it's a campaign promise not met. The White House is holding back on providing an explanation in regards to Joe Sestak's claim he was offered a job in exchange for dropping his challenge to now-lame duck Senator Arlen Specter.

As AP reports, it's clear that the Sestak offer was not an isolated case.

Administration officials dangled the possibility of a job for former Colorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff last year in hopes he would forego a challenge to Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet.

Administration officials on Wednesday declined to specify the job that was floated or the name of the administration official who approached Romanoff, and said no formal offer was ever made. They spoke on condition of anonymity, saying they were not cleared to discuss private conversations.

Romanoff's campaign spokesman did not immediately respond to questions.
