Skokie's Holocaust memorial

Yesterday Holocaust survivors attended a Holocaust memorial service at the Skokie Valley Agudath Jacob Synagogue in Skokie, just east of Morton Grove.

Many Holocaust survivors settled in Skokie in the years after the end of World War II.

Pictured above is the Skokie Holocaust Memorial, which is located in a small plaza adjacent to the town's library. The northern Chicago suburb is the home of the Illinois Holocaust Museum.
