Rep. John Dingell (D-MI) appeared pretty tough yesterday while he was questioning James Lentz, who heads Toyota's American operations, about the automakers safety problems.
Dingell's wife Debbie is a senior executive with General Motors--the federal government owns a majority stake in GM.
The Dingells own a lot of GM stock, possibly worth millions.
Here are two tough question for Dingell: What is the value of the GM stock you and your wife own? How much campaign cash did you receive from Big Three automakers during the last election cycle?
Ready for a change of pace? Here's a video that hows that some congressmen enjoy their Toyotas.
And despite Toyota's problems, Consumer Reports named its Prius one of as its choices for best overall value.

Makes me Glad I drive a Ford!
There's a big difference between customer satisfaction from fit, finish and service in the garage. Toyota excels in these areas.
Bad quality can annoy.
Bad reliability can kill.
It would be interesting to compare Ford, GM, Toyota, Honda and the other major car companies in terms of long-term reliability and fatality statistics.
