Reports of problems with faulty Toyota gas pedals have dominated the news of late, which is as it should be. But tonight I'm going to take a look at the closing of the NUMMI plant, a joint venture that will be shutting down at the end of March. It's California's last auto plant.
But government-owned GM pulled out of the agreement last year. The United Autoworkers Union, which owns 17.5 percent of GM, is protesting the closure, several NUMMI workers picketed a Modesto Toyota dealership, they handed out flyers and held up a banner that read, "Toyota Killing California Jobs."
Smell the hypocrisy.
