Sitting next to Michelle Obama during Wednesday's State of the Union address was Jeff Brown, who has opened supermarkets in Philadelphia's "food deserts," areas not served by by large grocery stores. A laudable effort to be sure, but meanwhile, back in the First Lady's hometown, members of her Democratic Party, are with a few notable exceptions such as Mayor Richard Daley, are vehemently opposed to Wal-Mart opening more stores in Chicago's food deserts.
And Wal-Mart doesn't just sell groceries, clothes, and electronics.
Did you know that one-quarter of Americans don't know about the Earned Income Tax Credit.
Wal-Mart is donating $4 million to the National Disability Institute, One Economy and the United Way to provide free tax filing services.
And that saves Americans almost $1 billion.
And that is very laudable.

WalMart does a lot of good things the left won't admit. To do so would be to admit that WalMart isn't 100% unadulterated evil. They can't bring themselves to that.
