Marshall Thompson founded the R&B group the Chi-Lites. Joe Jackson is of course Michael Jackson's father. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that both are listed on a fundraising invitation for Dorothy Brown, a Chicago Democrat who is running for Cook County Board President.
Accompanying a picture of the duo is the message that they "cordially invite you to a Red Carpet Reception in support of Dorothy Brown."
In addition to his gold records, Thompson has a felony conviction on his résumé; he was convicted for taking part in a bribery scheme involving the selling of police badges from a suburband park district.
Jacko's father is in Germany and has no plans to attend the fundraiser according to Thompson--who says he might sing at the event.
Brown says she didn't plan the fundraiser.
