One of the chief backers of the Employee Free Choice Act, or the so-called Employee Free Choice Act is Iowa Democrat and ethanol salesman Tom Harkin. The National Journal (subscription required) is reporting tonight that Harkin may force a Senate vote on EFCA, with the goal of pinning down Democrats such as Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania into supporting a compromise bill.
The former Republican might be in need of labor support when he runs in next year's primary.
