Blagojevich can still appoint Obama's replacement

Last night the Illinois House of Representatives refused to act on legislation that would take the power to appoint a successor in the US Senate out of the hand of Governor Rod Blagojevich--who tried to sell Obama's seat--and put it in the hands of the people of Illinois by way of a special election.

Which means while he remains as governor, which could be for a while, Blago could appoint Illinois' next US Senator.

Thank you, House Democrats. (Sarcasm off.)

The leader of he House Dems is Michael Madigan (D-Chicago) who pointed out this morning on WLS-AM's Don & Roma show that all of US Senate Democrats signed a letter stating that they would not seat a Blagojevich appointed senator.

But Blago refuses to play by the rules, and he is totally unpredictable.

Do we want a constutional crisis?

Didn't I hear the U.S. Senate has to approve any appointee? If that's the case, Bluggo needs to be careful how he proceeds.
