The City of Churches makes room for a madrassa

Many years ago, the nickname of Brooklyn, New York was "The City of Churches." Since then, members of others faiths that call their worship places by other names moved in.

A few days ago, Daniel Pipes wrote about the September opening of an Arabic language public school in the borough.

Pipes remarks that on the surface, this is a good thing, since America is desperately short of US-born Arabic speakers.

But digging a bit deeper, and Pipes finds much not to like, as you'll read in his latest New York Sun column.

It's a hard article to excerpt, so just head to his site.
