"Occupy" police overtime costs mounting--will cities ask feds for bailout?

Chicago cops on overtime two days ago
The good news is that police departments aren't removing cops from neighborhoods so they can keep an eye on, and if necessary, arrest the "Occupy" demonstrators.

The bad news is cities are spending a lot of money on police and other municipal employee overtime on these endless demonstrations.

For instance...

New York: $3.4 million.
Boston: Over $2 million.
Portland, Oregon: $186,400.
Minneapolis: Over $200,000.
Chicago's City Hall
Denver: $365,000.
Philadelphia: About $500,000.
Atlanta: "Occupy" cops are on 12-hour shifts.
Los Angeles: $400,000 (that figure includes property damage)
Chicago: $55,000.

I'm suspicious of the Chicago figure, but on the other hand, the cities with the higher overtime and maintenance outlays seem to the ones that are allowing tent cities in parks--Chicago isn't permitting them.

However, attorneys for Occupy Chicago--the uber-radical National Lawyers Guild--will meet with Mayor Rahm Emanuel in regards to finding a permanent home for these spoiled brats. Emanuel and Chief of Police Garry McCarthy have been firm in regards to preventing these shanty towns in Chicago. Good for them.

I'm assuming this meeting will be a dog-and-pony show, but if Emanuel caves in, Second City Cop thinks the hallway in front of his city hall office might be suitable for them. And of course vacant lots and "99-percenters" are abundant in Chicago's impoverished neighborhoods.

In Virginia, the Richmond Tea Party sent a bill to municipal officials for Occupy Richmond's camp there.

But will our cities ask for overtime bailouts from the federal government? Vice President Biden is predicting more murders and rapes if Stimulus II isn't enacted...will he say there will be even more if the Occupy Wall Street protests continue?
