WI Supreme Court validates Walker union law--now will Quinn pay up on Bears-Packers bet?

Super Bowl Sunday,
Tampico, IL
Now that the Wisconsin Supreme Court has reinstated the Badger State's budget repair bill, which takes away collective bargaining rights from most state employees, it's time to put some pressure on Illinois' hapless governor, Pat Quinn.

It's been nearly four months since Quinn was supposed to volunteer at a Wisconsin food pantry wearing a Green Bay Packers jersey. It was a good-natured wager between the Chicago Democrat and Wisconsin's governor, Scott Walker, over the outcome of January's NFC championship game between the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers. The Pack prevailed in that game and won its fourth Super Bowl two weeks later.

But Quinn, which this blog exclusively reported has collected over $5 million in campaign contributions from public sector unions, welshed on his bet, although a spokesperson said in February that Quinn would schedule a make-up date "in the next few months." The Walker bill was cited as the reason for Quinn backing out.

Pay up, Quinn. Now.

Oh, go Chicago Bears! If there's a season that is.
