Blogging from Musining, Michigan.An hour encountered my first Barack Obama
Like the other, this one is on US Route 41, and you can find it in the town of Harvey, just east of Marquette--on Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Unlike the other two U.P. signs I've seen, there was evidence of work--other than placing the placards on the side of the road. And it wasn't cheapo road resurfacing, the workers were grading a road bed.
But why does this project need a campaign sign?
Or any project?

I like it. It's nice to know all that money is going to a tangible use. Typically when the government tries something like this we have no idea what the money was actually spent on.
Those signs cost $300. And they are promoting Obama's policies.
And once again, what work is being performed in L'Anse and Covington on the U.P?
If I hadn't seen your blog I wouldn't have even known there are signs. I agree that It's a shame that money is spent on signs, but unfortunately If people don't have it s p e l l e d out for them they don't get it. People who are so against Government seem to forget that We are the government, and we do have to pay for the roads etc. Mr. Sanford of S.Carolina refused to take stimuls money and has some of the worst roads in the country! something he's proud of?

I have, and can vouch for the fact that your comment about roads there could only be made by someone who has never driven the Interstate between Ft. Wayne, IN and Detroit MI.

South Carolina is one of eight state's I've not visited, so I'll have to take your word for it.
My guess is that they're worse near the coast--hurricanes?
It can't be because of snow or road salt--road eaters both of them.
