The good doctor should write a prescription for the scores of senators and House members who voted for the bill, but didn't bother to read what was in it. The prescription: "Read the bill!"
Click here for Coburn's hall of shame.
Readers of Marathon Pundit will be glad to know that some stimulus waste first exposed here made Coburn's list.
Road signs costing $300 each are being placed at construction sites to alert motorists that the project is being paid for by stimulus money. Signs are popping up all across America. In Illinois alone, the signs are expected to cost $150,000, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). According to an IDOT spokesman, "It's difficult for us to determine how many signs there will be."
In additions to the signs mentioned below, there's one I saw yesterday on the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) on Washington Boulevard. Since it's illegal, and dangerous, to stop on an interstate highway except for emergency, I didn't snap a pic.
But I've received unconfirmed reports of "Obama campaign signs," because let's fact it, that's what these things are, on the corner of Mannheim Road and Oakton in Des Plaines, Illinois and another in downtown Park Ridge, Illinois on Touhy Avenue and Northwest Highway. The last one is quite close to Hillary Rodham Clinton's old home.
