Chiraq: 13 dead and at least 52 wounded over Labor Day weekend, over 500 dead in 2016

Englewood earlier this year
Violence plagued Chicago again over another holiday weekend. Thirteen people were shot to death and at least 52 people were wounded over the the the Labor Day weekend, the traditional end of summer.

One of the slain was an 80-year-old man who was killed after a man, who has been arrested, simply walked up to him and shot him in the South Shore neighborhood. Yep, an 80 year-old.

In the Back of the Yards neighborhood, a woman who is nine months pregnant was shot twice, she's being hospitalized and is in serious condition.

The notorious Englewood neighborhood on the South Side was the site of several shootings.

One of the Labor Day weekend killings was the 500th murder in Chiraq this year. The city has already exceeded last year's murder total.

Not healthy enough to serve: Hillary suffers two coughing fits today

Hillary Clinton has not released her health records. Unlike the Energizer Bunny of the presidential race, Donald Trump, she campaigns intermittently and rarely speaks to the press. What is she hiding? Today Hillary did speak to the media--but more on that in bit.

During a campaign appearance in Cleveland, Clinton suffered a four-minute long coughing and dry-throat fit. She's had other coughing outbursts.

The last time Americans elected a presidential candidate with obvious health problems was in 1944--Franklin D. Roosevelt cruised to his fourth win, and he was dead five months later; after he was duped by Josef Stalin at the Yalta conference, signing over eastern Europe to the communists and subjecting tens of millions to an economic dark age and five decades of tyranny.

Do we want to take another chance, America?

Later that day--meeting (gasp!) with the press--Hillary suffered another coughing fit on her campaign plane.

Clinton is unfit to serve as president, both physically and morally.

Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly dies at 92

Blogger with Schlafly
The conservative movement lost a legend today. Phyllis Schaffly died at 92 in her St. Louis home, surrounded by family.

Even if you didn't agree with her, you have to agree that this is a woman who clearly made a difference. Schlafly, who moved across the Mississippi River to Alton, Illinois after getting married, first came to national attention for her 1964 book, A Choice Not an Echo, which enthusiastically advanced the ultimately unsuccessful presidential campaign of Barry Goldwater and laid out the case against the liberal Rockefeller Republicans. While Goldwater lost, badly, the conservative movement eventually prevailed with the election of Ronald Reagan as president in 1980. The founder of the Eagle Forum, Schlafly led the seemingly futile late innings attack against the Equal Rights Amendment--which was never ratified.

I had the honor of meeting Schlafly after she spoke at a DePaul University forum in 2008.

She was never one to back away from a battle. That night she said, "I was hoping that the students with the women's studies department would come tonight, so they could hear another view." Of course they didn't.

Schlafly is the co-author of The Conservative Case for Trump, which will be published tomorrow.

Rest in peace.

(Video) CNN stunned when fact checker confirms Clinton phones destroyed with hammers

Watch as a startled Brooke Baldwin yells out for help to get confirmation from a CNN colleague to confirm that yes, Hillary Clinton's staff destroyed--with hammers--13 Blackberry devices and five iPads during her time as secretary of state.

This is someone who has disqualified herself from serving as president.

(Video) Kaine: Clinton can’t be blamed for shocking ignorance about classified materials

Hillary Clinton is supposed to be so smart and so much better than everyone else. So why can't ascertain what correspondence is classified (marked "C") and not?

Watch as her glib running mate, Tim Kaine, explain on ABC's This Week why it's not her fault that she can't tell the difference between the two. Fine. But does that make Hillary fit to be president?

No.

Gonzaga hires "muscle" radical professor fired by Mizzou

Do you remember Melissa Click, the University of Missouri communications professor who called for "some muscle" to remove a photojournalist from a public plaza at the Show Me State's flagship college last year during a Black Lives Matter protest. In a rare instance of common sense at a institution of "higher" education, Mizzou fired Click in February.

But Gonzaga University, a Catholic college in Washington state, hired Click for one year in a non-tenure track position. "We're very confident she's learned from her experience," a Gonzaga spokesperson said.

Maybe.

As the investigation on Click was winding down a video surfaced of a wild-eyed Click swearing at police officers during the Mizzou homecoming parade.

My prediction is a year from now Gonzaga will re-evaluate Click and she'll be retained. The left almost always circles their wagons to protect its fellow radicals.

The Kinks: Sunny Afternoon

Summer is just about over, so I thought I'd turn to the Kinks to play an ultimate summer song, "Sunny Afternoon" from 1966. It was their last American hit until "Lola" four years later. Summer was definitely over when Ray Davies and company recorded this video--there is snow on the ground here.
