Van Morrison - Summertime In England (Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, London 24-05-1989)
Van Morrison's Common One album from 1980 divided fans and critics. It was his last album before his New Age period, and to be fair, the album is a bit disjointed.
One indulgent track is the jazzy "Summertime in England." The studio version is 15 minutes long. Nine years later, the Belfast Cowboy performed a powerful, and much better, six-minute version at a London jazz club.
